No.  One of the biggest misconceptions with carpet cleaning is that you should be able to get an exact quote over the phone. I wish this were true, but it isn't.

First, would you really trust anyone who quoted you a price over the phone, sight unseen?  

What would you think if you called your dentist and asked "how much would it cost to fix my teeth?"... and he gave you a price?!  

Or would you trust a mechanic that gave you a price over the phone to fix that 'funny noise' coming from your cars engine?

Secondly, honest, reputable carpet cleaning companies usually price cleaning by the square foot. This way a company can include all the steps necessary in their price to thoroughly clean your carpet without extra charges being added on after the company arrives.

Other factors we look at include the type of carpeting. Certain types are just harder to clean. The amount of soiling is important. Carpeting that hasn't been cleaned for five years will take longer than carpeting that was cleaned just six months ago. Finally, how much furniture do want moved? If we move the furniture, the price will include that labor.
